Exploration
Try possibilities and gather real information before committing.
Choose the season that fits your life now, then turn it into one clear priority and a realistic 12-week plan.
The problem with advice
Season of Life Playbook
The useful question is not which advice wins. It is which advice fits your life right now.
Marc's reframe
Season of Life Playbook
You would not wear summer clothes in winter. Your strategy also needs to match the conditions around you.
Context matters more than content because good advice still needs the right moment.
The car model
Season of Life Playbook
Try possibilities and gather real information before committing.
Press the pedal and build momentum through regular action.
Maintain a steady speed because the current pace works.
Focus hard on one opportunity for a defined short burst.
No mode is automatically better. The right mode is the one that matches your current conditions.
Mode one
Exploration
This season helps you gather information, understand yourself, and discover what you want before choosing a direction.
The Exploration trap
Season of Life Playbook
You keep reading, reflecting, and collecting ideas without creating new evidence.
You try something small, learn from what happened, and use that information to choose.
Exploration works when it creates evidence. It stalls when it becomes a permanent hiding place.
Mode two
Acceleration
This season calls for consistent, frequent action. You act proactively, track progress, and learn from what happens.
Mode three
Cruise
You are happy with the current level and do not need faster or slower. Your job is to maintain what works.
Cruise Mode is a season of intentional maintenance. It is not a lesser season and it does not need to become Acceleration.
The Cruise trap
Season of Life Playbook
Cruise becomes harder when you change the business, career, or plan simply because standing still feels uncomfortable.
Sometimes the strongest move is to keep the status quo and protect your attention.
Mode four
Top Speed
You say no to nonessential activity and direct your effort toward a real opportunity that can create results quickly.
The hard limit
Top Speed
Top Speed is powerful because it ends. Without a boundary, the season starts consuming the life it was meant to serve.
Four diagnostic questions
Season of Life Playbook
Cruise ModeAre you happy with your current progress?
Acceleration ModeDo you need more momentum?
Top Speed ModeIs there a specific opportunity worth 12 to 16 weeks of full focus?
Exploration ModeDo you genuinely lack clarity?
Choose from your actual condition, not from the mode you think sounds most impressive.
One-off shifts
Season of Life Playbook
Your season reflects the conditions before the event.
A time-sensitive event changes what deserves your attention.
You choose a different pace for as long as the conditions support it.
Marc's example: In 2020, Marc shifted from Cruise Mode with a digital marketing day job and okay side hustles into Top Speed Mode, running Trading Club sessions at 3am.
When the event ends, reassess. You can continue if another real opportunity appears, return to Cruise, or explore again if the direction no longer fits.
Turn the mode into action
Season of Life Playbook
Marc's example: Marc used ChatGPT o3 with his business documents and found that leads were the bottleneck. He had the knowledge, but he had not made leads the priority.
Sometimes the answer is simply to prioritize the thing you have been avoiding.
Every mode needs maintenance
The 3R Strategy
More effort cannot replace recovery, reflection, and a fresh game plan.
Notice what went well, what could be better, and what you learned.
Restore yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Set the next game plan, intention, goals, and priorities.
If you wait until the car burns out, you have waited too long. Maintenance works best before the breakdown.

Rate the twelve life areas from 1 to 5, use N/A where something is not a priority, then identify the bottom two business elements.
What you will build
Your 12-week plan
Reassess after 12 weeks, then choose the season that fits the next 8 to 12 weeks.
A season is a current choice, not a permanent identity.
