Choose the season that fits your life now, then turn it into one clear priority and a realistic 12-week plan.

Start with the right frame

Good advice can still be wrong for you right now.

Marc's reframe is simple. You would not wear summer clothes in winter or winter clothes in summer. In the same way, a useful strategy still has to fit the season you are actually in.

Most advice can work in the right setting.

Some advice says to push. Other advice says to rest. Some seasons need more action. Other seasons need clarity, maintenance, or recovery.

Your current situation decides what fits.

The better question is not whether the advice works. Ask whether it works for you in this season of life.

The car gives you the model

Four seasons call for four different ways of moving.

A car does not stay at one speed forever. You might try the car, build momentum, hold a steady speed, or press hard for a defined burst. Each move has a purpose and a trap.

01

Exploration Mode

You are trying the car before committing.

Gather new information, build self-awareness, and discover what you want. Research, talk to people, reflect, apply, and run real experiments.

Watch the trap: Exploration becomes stagnation when it continues for years without action.

02

Acceleration Mode

You press the pedal and build momentum.

Take consistent, frequent, proactive action. Stay focused, track your progress, and at times choose more action than learning.

Look for this marker: You need momentum and are ready to act on a direction you already understand.

03

Cruise Mode

You hold a steady speed without pressing harder.

Maintain what is working because you are happy with your current progress. You do not need to move faster or slower right now.

Watch the trap: Itchy hands can make you change something that already works.

04

Top Speed Mode

You press the pedal for maximum speed.

Use maximum focus for a specific opportunity or result. This is a defined season of no, where nonessential activity gets a no.

Keep the hard limit: Top Speed lasts 12 to 16 weeks maximum because longer creates mental, spiritual, and emotional burnout risk.

Marc's example: In late 2023, Marc deliberately chose Cruise Mode while preparing for his wedding. He did not push hard on work during that period because the season called for maintenance.

Name the season you are in

Four questions help you make an honest call.

Do not choose the season that sounds impressive. Choose the one that matches your actual condition now.

01

Are you happy with your current progress?

A genuine yes points toward Cruise Mode.

02

Do you need more momentum right now?

A genuine yes points toward Acceleration Mode.

03

Is there a specific opportunity worth going all-in on?

A genuine yes can point toward Top Speed Mode for 12 to 16 weeks maximum.

04

Do you genuinely lack clarity about what you want?

A genuine yes points toward Exploration Mode.

Stay responsive to real life

A one-off event can change your season.

A season is not a permanent label. A real event or opportunity can change what your life calls for, and the end of that event gives you another choice.

Your current season is working.

You are moving at the pace that fits your life now.

A real event or opportunity appears.

You may choose a faster or different season because the context changed.

You choose again after the event.

Stay at Top Speed for another real opportunity, return to Cruise when the wave ends, or move to Exploration when you feel misaligned.

Marc's example: In 2020, Marc shifted from Cruise Mode, with a digital marketing day job and okay side hustles, to Top Speed Mode when the COVID opportunity arose. He ran Trading Club sessions at 3am.

Turn your season into a priority

Choose one thing that deserves the next 12 weeks.

Your season sets the pace. Your reflection shows where attention is needed. Your one priority decides what you will focus on now.

Start with your 12 personal areas.

Rate each area from 1 to 5. N/A is valid when an area is not a current priority.

  • Physical health
  • Emotional health
  • Mental health
  • Spiritual health
  • Active income
  • Passive income
  • Experiences
  • Personal finance
  • Family
  • Partner
  • Friends
  • Community

Then review your five business elements.

Look at Lead Generation, Lead Nurture, Conversion, Delivery, and Operations. Identify the bottom two areas that need focus.

  • Lead Generation
  • Lead Nurture
  • Conversion
  • Delivery
  • Operations

Bring the reflection down to one clear priority.

1

Name the season that matches your current condition.

2

Look at the weakest or most avoided area that matters in this season.

3

Choose one priority for the next 12 weeks instead of trying to fix everything at once.

Marc's example: Marc used ChatGPT o3 with his business documents to identify his bottleneck. The answer was leads. He did not lack knowledge. He had simply never prioritized it.

Service the car in every season

Every pace still needs Review, Recharge, and Relaunch.

No matter which season you choose, you still need to service the car. Waiting until the car burns out is too late, so maintain it before that point.

R

Review what has actually happened.

Look at what went well, what could be better, and the lessons you want to carry forward.

R

Recharge across the whole person.

Make room for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual recovery.

R

Relaunch with a clear direction.

Set the game plan, intention, goals, and priorities for the next part of the journey.

HourlyTake a micro-reset through deep breaths, water, or a shower.
DailyReflect using Daily Highlights.
WeeklySet aside two to four hours for review and recharge.
MonthlySet aside four to eight hours for review.
QuarterlySet aside one to two days for review and retreat.

Use a quarterly planning rhythm

Reassess every 12 weeks instead of treating the season as permanent.

The normal planning rhythm is a 12-week reassessment, followed by a decision for the next 8 to 12 weeks. This is separate from the 12 to 16-week hard maximum for Top Speed.

01

Review the last 12 weeks.

Look at what happened across life and business.

02

Name your current season again.

Use the four diagnostic questions and your real condition.

03

Choose your next priority.

Select one thing that deserves focused attention now.

04

Set the next 8 to 12 weeks.

Match the plan and pace to the season you chose.

Your Season of Life plan

One season, one priority, one service rhythm, one review date

Your Season Declaration

Name your current mode, the diagnostic answer that supports it, and the boundaries that keep it honest.

Your one 12-week priority

Name the one area that deserves focused attention in this season and what progress will mean.

Your 3R service rhythm

Set how Review, Recharge, and Relaunch will show up while you follow the plan.

Your reassessment date

Set the date for your next 12-week review so you choose your season again based on your real condition then.

Keep the playbook close

These are the ideas worth carrying forward.

01

Context matters more than content because the right strategy depends on your current season.

02

Exploration, Acceleration, Cruise, and Top Speed each serve a different condition.

03

Top Speed needs a specific opportunity and a hard maximum of 12 to 16 weeks.

04

A one-off event can shift your season, and you can choose again when that event ends.

05

Sometimes the answer is to prioritize the thing you have been avoiding.

06

Every season needs Review, Recharge, Relaunch, and a fresh decision every 12 weeks.
